About me

PREPARATION OF QUILT

Clip the quilt top and back of all loose threads, front and back.

Press all seams to one side or open so that they lay as flat as possible.

DO NOT BASTE  YOUR QUILT.  I will need to charge you for the time needed to REMOVE your basting.

Backing should be at least 4" larger than the top on all sides, preferrably 6" on each side.  It MUST be square and the edges straight.  (When making your backing, remove the selvedges from the fabric first.  Also, sewing your backing seams in thirds looks much better on the finished product than sewing them in half down the middle of the quilt.)

Batting should be at least 4" larger than the top on all sides, and MUST be square with straight edges.

If your quilt is to have curved edges, DO NOT cut the curves until AFTER the quilting is completed.

If you would like me to bind your quilt, please provide at least one yard of the fabric you would like used.
